E3, the biggest gaming conference, so take place from 12-15 June this year as a free, “reimagined, all-virtual” event. Nintendo, Xbox, Capcom, Konami, Ubisoft, Take-Two Interactive, and Warner Bros. Games will be there among other companies. Though, so far Sony seems to be missing.
E3 was cancelled last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but it’s expected to return to an in-person event next year.

Developer V1 Interactive, behind recent game Disintegration. Has officially close its door yesterday.
Studio head, Marcus Letho had this to say:
“We want to thank all the talented people at V1, both past and present, who helped make the last five years wonderful.”
Update: EA have agreed to buy Codemasters for $1.2 billion. The takeover has been reported to happen in the first quarter of 2021.
Codemasters chairman, Gerhard Florin had this to say; “We feel this union would provide an exciting and prosperous future for Codemasters, allowing our teams to create, launch and service bigger and better games to an extremely passionate audience,”
EA’ CEO Andrew Wilson also added;
“Our industry is growing, the racing category is growing, and together we will be positioned to lead in a new era of racing entertainment.
“With the full leverage of EA’s technology, platform expertise, and global reach, this combination will allow us to grow our existing franchises and deliver more industry-defining racing experiences to a global fan base.”
Dec 14th – 7:30am we reported; According to Sky news sources. Electronic Arts has entered the negotiations table and kick start a bidding war for Codemasters.
Further to previous reports back in November, where we reported Take-Two interactive were in talks of buying the company. Nothing has really been said until now, with EA coming in with a substantial offer. Other than so claimed reports that some of the Codemasters share owners were dissatisfied with Take-Two.
No representatives could be contacted from EA and Codemasters declined to comment.

People Can Fly Developer behind such games: Painkiller, Bulletstorm, Gears of War Judgement and upcoming release, Outriders. Have announced that they are teaming up with Take-Two interactive and Square Enix to create two new original triple A games.
“In partnership with Take-Two Interactive we are also working on the recently announced new original AAA title led by PCF’s NY studio.
People Can Fly’s third game in the making is our new exciting project with Square Enix which details are yet to be revealed.”

gamesindustry.biz has reported that Take-Two are in talks of buying Codemasters.
During a investors call, Codemasters themselves have said they have had discussions with Take-Two for the sale of the company.
“In a separate announcement, Take-Two explained its thinking behind the acquisition, saying, “Take-Two believes that the combination of Take-Two and Codemasters would bring together two world-class interactive entertainment portfolios, with a highly complementary fit between Take-Two’s 2K publishing label and Codemasters in the racing genre.”
“In addition, Take-Two believes that it can bring benefits to Codemasters’ performance by leveraging Take-Two’s global distribution network and 2K’s core operating expertise in publishing, including live operations, analytics, product development, and brand and performance marketing.”
