Possible Release Date Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl?

It’s been a few days since the trailer dropped for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl and obviously we can’t wait for the games release. And there’s a possibility GameFreak have revealed it in the trailer.

Now if you pause it in the 16th second you’ll notice the following time setting:

Pokemon Diamond and Pearl were released on the 28th of September 2006 in Japan. This could be nod to that, but would make less sense in the other regions, as the games released on the 27th of April 2007 in the US, and 27th of July 2007 in the EU. Yet this number remains the same in both the Japanese trailer and the international trailer.

So, could the 28th of September be the release date for Pokemon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl? Releasing it on the release date of the previous versions would be very faithful to their legacy. What do you think? Let us know in the comments below.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl Revealed

It’s happening. It’s actually happening. After years of waiting on re-releases of gen 4, the Pokémon Company answered our prayers.

Like FireRed & LeafGreen, HeartGold & SoulSilver, and Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire before it, the remakes have been given a slightly alerted name. Gone are Diamond and Pearl, to be replaced with Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl!

Here’s some info from the official Pokémon site:

Experience the nostalgic story from the Pokémon Diamond™ and Pokémon Pearl™ games in an adventure reborn on the Nintendo Switch™ system.

Adventures in the Pokémon Brilliant Diamond and Pokémon Shining Pearl games will take place in the Sinnoh region. Rich in nature and with Mount Coronet towering at its heart, Sinnoh is a land of many myths passed down through the ages. You’ll visit many different locations in the Sinnoh region, while striving to become the Champion of the Pokémon League.

The original story has been faithfully reproduced, and the sense of scale in the originals’ towns and routes has been carefully preserved. People who played Pokémon Diamond and Pokémon Pearl can revisit familiar places and relive familiar scenes once more. For those setting out through Sinnoh for the first time, plenty of new encounters and surprises await.

These remakes include easy-to-understand, player-friendly conveniences of the modern Pokémon series, plus up-close-and-personal Pokémon battle scenes.

Whether you played Pokémon Diamond or Pokémon Pearl back in the day or you’re encountering these games for the first time, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.

As you can see from the trailer, and the above stills, the overworld uses a chibi art style, while battles feature a more normally propotioned art style. Honestly, I love both so much. It looks so good!

While we don’t have a lot of further information, we did get a glimpse of the Sinnoh Underground, so we’ll be able to dig for fossils again and play mini games! We also got scene with the Union Room.

Here’s to hoping I can actually utilise it this time.

Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl will be releasing on the Nintendo Switch later this year.
