Potential GAME store closures warned by parent Frasers Group

GAME, UK’s biggest videogame store retailer could have potential store closures, warned by parent company, Frasers Group.

Owned by Mike Ashley (Sports Direct, House of Fraser), some GAME stores have moved from their original location into nearby Sports Direct stores.

Frasers Group came out and warned of these potential store closures by criticising the government’s “worthless” relief package in a recent statement.

This has made Frasers Group review its entire portfolio:

“For Frasers Group this cap will make it nearly impossible to take on ex-Debenhams sites with the inherent jobs created. It will also mean we need to review our entire portfolio to ascertain stores that are unviable due to unrealistic business rates.”
