Animal Crossing New Horizons secures No.1 spot for third time consecutively in UK Charts

Nintendo will be happy as the momentum for Animal Cross New Horizons is still going strong and no signs of letting up. Nintendo have dominated the boxed sales this week, though they have seen some decline in percentages per title. Obviously, do take into consideration that some of the Switch games that are in the top 10 have been on sale via the eShop. The figure combined with physical would be more and would be interesting to find out. Of course we have new games incoming soon as we have reached the halfway point in January already.

February and March are looking good months for Nintendo once again. Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury Feb 12th, Persona 5 Strikers for Switch and PS4 in Feb and Bravely Default 2 in Feb, and lastly Monster Hunter Rise for Switch in March.

PlayStation do have new IP Returnal coming in March. Will that prove to be a hit? It looks rather interesting as it has the Alien vibe going for me personally.

Japan declares second COVID emergency, 2021 game preparations at jeopardy?

Japan has declared a second COVID state of emergency today. The virus has caused massive disruption all over the world in every walk of life.

The videogame indsutry is no different and not immune. Already SNK Global has postponed their announcement of King of Fighters XV and Samurai Shodown season pass 3 reveal.

Capcom later today are showcasing their digital event of Monster Hunter Rise reveal of more game information and big news too as they have promoted. Will it be affected? Possibly not, but let’s not take everything for granted here.

What does this mean for some of Nintendo’s games that are celebrating anniversaries such as Zelda 35th, Pokemon 25th and Donkey Kong 40th? Will BOTW 2 development be hit with another setback due to “suspected” tighter covid restrictions within Japan? Not only Nintendo games, games such as Persona 5: Strikers, FF16, Monster Hunter Rise itself perhaps? Again this all speculative and we won’t know until publishers/developers come out with such announcements.

Capcom have updated their video policy for content creators. For example, music in Capcom games and be that “Only capcom” music as follows:

“Please note that some game soundtracks or songs may not be owned by Capcom, but instead are licensed from an artist or another group. As this varies from game to game, please be aware that music may trigger content flags and potential removal of the video. Game soundtracks may not be posted or distributed separately and apart from game footage.”

Secondly, worth highlighting spoilers. As many content creators have playthroughs with recent new games will of course be full of spoilers. Spoiler disclaimers are advised and here is what Capcom have to say about it:

“Any posting or other unauthorized disclosure of game content prior to a game’s official release is strictly prohibited. Monster Hunter movie takes top spot at the box office

Based on the Capcom videogame Monster Hunter, the movie has taken the top spot at the box office.

As we all know this year has been incredibly turbulent for everybody, yet certain sectors of the entertainment world are thriving during this unprecedented pandemic. The Monster Hunter movie generated $2.2 million, the figure maybe low for a top spot box office, yet we are in a unknown territory.

Starring Milla Jovovich (Fifth Element, Resident Evil), Tony Jaa (Ong Bak) and Ron Perlman (Hellboy, Sons of Anarchy, Blade II). Battling monsters with a reported cost to make, $60 million, we will see more Monster Hunter in the future? Seems very promising.

A leaked CD Projekt Red board meeting call has surfaced on the Internet over at Reddit.

Below you can see what was said in the images below.

The general census seems like the investors are only bothered about the money and worried how the customer refund procedure will be carried out. As we reported yesterday that GAME Espana came out publicly that they won’t refund the game unless it was physical, manufactur defect. Yet under the consumer rights act, you are entitled to a refund or in some certain cases, partial refund at best, the quicker you raise a claim, UK that is.

We even spoke to Amazon customer services yesterday, and if the software is defective upon their investigation, they will offer a refund.

Stay tuned for more updates on the Cyberpunk 2077 fiasco.
