The Intellivision Amico is prepped to offer something a bit different when it launches – and we’ll get a clearer picture as to the console’s future soon.
It’s October, which means the leaves turn lovely colours, there’s that pre-winter chill in the air, and disabled gaming charity AbleGamers is doing its #Unlocktober fundraising drive.
So, we have some new information on Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit, the game that has you racing an actual Mario Kart through your house from the 16th of October. First, let’s take a look at the new video:
The set contains an RC Mario Kart (either Mario or Luigi), 4 gates, 2 road signs and a cable to charge your Kart.
The game can be downloaded from the eShop, but you’ll obviously need an actual Kart to play. Up to four players can join together to race (each will need a complete set of Switch, game and Kart to do so).
As seen in the video you can create your own courses, using the gates to outline them. In-game the gates can be customised to have special features like dropping items or offering a speed boost. And tracks can have different themes, like lava or underwater.
Collecting coins helps you unlock features like course customisation options and cosmetic upgrades for your racer (in-game that is).
The Kart will respond to stuff happening in the game, for example receiving a speed boost will cause it to actually drive faster, or hitting a red shell will stop the Kart completely. Now the Kart should be able to run on all surfaces, but it may show down a bit on carpets.
How often you need to recharge the Kart depends on how fast you’re racing. The game features 4 speeds: 50cc, 100cc, 150cc and 200cc. At 150cc you should get around 90 minutes of play. This increases at lower speeds and decrease at 200cc.
During a Smash broadcast Sakurai gave us our first look at several new Amiibo. Banjo-Kazooie, Byleth and Terry Bogard! These are planned for 2021, with no further details on the exact release date.
It’s Minecraft, guys. Minecraft is collaborating with the Super Smash Bros. franchise. Check out the trailer below. Yes, even Mario was shocked.
So, Steve, Alex, Zombie and Enderman will be part of the new DLC. We’re still waiting on more information, but that’s set to follow in another broadcast planned for the 3rd of October.
