Breath of the Wild 2 to be released in 2022?
Respected analyst Dr Serkan Toto, from Kantan games, has expressed his opinion for a 2022 release. There is some evidence which could potentially back this up too. Of course we haven’t had this “suspected” reveal of the Nintendo Switch Pro, yet a French retailer did list the Switch Pro earlier in the week.
Only last month Monolith Soft were advertising for around 40 positions and 5 of them were listed for “The Legend of Zelda series” presumably for BOTW 2, reported by VGC. Monolith have contributed to Breath Of The Wild, Splatoon 2 and Animal Crossing New Horizons, yet Monolith are known for their Xenoblade series. The increase in roles has probably mean’t production on Breath Of The Wild 2 is ramping up leading to a potential 2021 release?
Aonuma did say development of the Switch sequel is “proceeding smoothly” and more information will be shared later this year. Of course the new information of BOTW 2 will no doubt be shared at E3 2021, via Nintendo’s Direct and perhaps a summary of the new info via the Treehouse afterwards perhaps.
