Modder has restored Nintendo’s official track editor on Super Mario Kart

Create Super Mario Kart tracks just like the devs did.

A modder known as MRL314, has used a code discovered in a recently leaked prototype to restore developer tools.

It was leaked last year online known as the Nintendo “Gigaleak”. The discovered code restored developer tools, i.e. Super Mario Kart SFX-DOS functionality. The SFX-DOS was Nintendo’s in-house operating system used for SNES game development which enabled users to read and write data directly from console to PC to use keyboards and external floppy disk.

It took several months for MRL314 to restore the SFX-DOS functionality and create his own repair for some features.
