Nintendo has released their financial report for the 3rd quarter of this fiscal year and there are some interesting tidbits to gloss over.
First up: the Nintendo Switch has sold 79.87 million units worldwide, which is more than the install base of the 3DS (75.94 million). It’s also close to lifetime sale numbers of the GBA, which stands at 81.51 million units.

Pikmin 3 Deluxe sold 1.91 million units since launching at the very end of October. This makes it the best-selling Pikmin game of all time.

Pokémon Sword and Shield are a huge success, with 20.35 million units sold worldwide. The last Pokémon titles to sell over 20 million units were Pokémon Gold and Silver back in 1999. (I feel old.)

Animal Crossing New Horizons is an absolute unit and has sold 31.18 million units. It hasn’t even been out yet for a year! This also makes it the first console exclusive title to sell over 30 million units in a calender year.
